Hunter River Burg isn't a vineyard; it’s a concept. Built on the soil structures made famous in the Côte d'Or - clay over limestone - this wine expresses the elegant red fruits and savoury tannins that only Hunter Valley Shyrah can.

This wine is our homage to the historic styles of the Hunter: medium-bodied and distinctly Pinot-esque. It’s exactly the kind of wine we love to drink.

To protect the delicate fruit profile, we hand-pick and utilised whole-berry fermentation, with very light drain-and-returns to keep the extraction gentle and the texture silky. Maturation in neutral French oak ensures the wood never masks the story; instead, it highlights the natural, savoury tannins and bright red fruits that define the wine.

Bright as a button today but this wine possesses the structural pedigree and balance to age gracefully for years to come. It’s a classic reimagined - power through poise.
